The Knowledge Communities Research Group is part of the Learning Systems Institute at Florida State University. We are located in southwest Tallahassee, Florida at Innovation Park, a research and development community. Our multidisciplinary team is interested in the use of methods and tools that facilitate the creative construction, sharing and reuse of knowledge among diverse groups of people. Our research interests are: domain understanding, computer supported collaborative work, user-centered design, knowledge management, human performance improvement and creative problem solving.
KCRG is working on two major research projects to investigate ways of using technology to increase the reuse and sharing of knowledge within the military. As part of this work we have developed a number of working prototypes that demonstrate new approaches to the use of technology.
