FCAT Science Achievement Level 3 and Above, Grade 5, Grade 8 and Grade 11
From 2006-2008, all grades tested in FCAT Science did not score higher than 44 percent. In 2008, 44 percent of 5th graders scored at level 3 and above on FCAT Science compared to 40 percent of 8th graders and 38 percent of 11th graders. Additionally, fifth graders showed the greatest percentage increases scoring at grade level and above on FCAT Science. The percentage of 5th graders scoring at level 3 and above on FCAT Science increased by 9 percentage points, compared to 8 percentage points by 8th graders, and 4 percentage points by 11th graders.
