FCAT Mathematics Achievement Level 3 and Above, Grades 3-5
There has been steady improvement by elementary students on FCAT Mathematics from 2002-2008. A greater percentage of third graders have performed at grade level and higher compared to fourth and fifth graders on FCAT Mathematics. In 2008, 76 percent of third graders scored at level 3 and above compared to 70 percent of fourth graders and 62 percent of fifth graders. Fourth graders showed the largest increase in percent scoring at grade level and above on FCAT Mathematics from 2002-2008, increasing by19 percentage points, compared to 17 points by third graders and 14 points by fifth graders.
