FCAT Mathematics Achievement Level 3 and Above by Ethnicity, Grade 3
From 2002-2008, the percentage of third grade White students scoring at grade level and above on FCAT Mathematics was higher than all other racial/ethnic groups. However, Black students in third grade made the greatest increases in the percentage of students scoring at grade level and above compared to the other racial/ethnic groups. During this interval, Blacks scoring at grade level and above increased by 24 points to 61 percent, compared to 20 points (72 percent) by Hispanics, and 15 points (87 percent) by White students.
