FCAT Mathematics Achievement Level 3 and Above by Ethnicity, Grade 5
From 2002-2008, the percentage of fifth grade White students scoring at grade level and above on FCAT Mathematics was higher than all other racial/ethnic groups. However, Hispanic students in fifth grade made the greatest increases in the percentage of students scoring at grade level and above compared to the other racial/ethnic groups. During this interval, Hispanics scoring at grade level and above increased by15 points (to 58 percent), compared to 14 points (to 41 percent) by Blacks, and 12 points (to 72 percent) by White students.
