FCAT Science Achievement Level 3 and Above by Ethnicity, Grade 8
From 2006-2008, the percentage of eighth grade White students scoring at grade level and above on FCAT Science was higher than all other racial/ethnic groups. However, both White and Hispanic students in eighth grade made the greatest increases in the percentage of students scoring at grade level and above compared to the other racial/ethnic groups. During this interval, White and Hispanics scoring at grade level and above increased by 8 points (to 53 and 40 percent respectively), compared to 6 points (to 19 percent) by Black students.
