
FCAT Mathematics Achievement Level 3 and Above, Grades 6-8
There has been steady improvement by middle school students in FCAT Mathematics from 2002-2008. A greater percentage of eighth graders have performed at grade level and higher compared to sixth and seventh graders. In 2008, 67 percent of eighth graders scored at level 3 and above on FCAT Mathematics compared to 60 percent of seventh graders and 53 percent of sixth graders. The percentage of eighth graders scoring at level 3 and above on FCAT Mathematics increased by 14 percentage points between 2002-2008, compared to 13 points by seventh graders, and 10 points by sixth graders.
