FCAT Mathematics Achievement Level 3 and Above by Ethnicity, Grade 8
From 2002-2008, the percentage of eighth grade White students scoring at grade level and above on FCAT Mathematics was higher than all other racial/ethnic groups. However, Hispanic students in eighth grade made the greatest increases in the percentage of students scoring at grade level and above compared to the other racial/ethnic groups. During this interval, Hispanics scoring at grade level and above increased by 19 points (to 61 percent), compared to 18 points (to 46 percent) by Blacks, and 11 points (to 78 percent) by White students.
