Florida’s NAEP Mathematics Student Achievement by Gender and Level, Grade 8
Eighth grade males and females scored equally well at the Basic level of achievement on NAEP* mathematics in Florida. However, males perform slightly better than females at the Proficient and Advanced Levels in 2007.
*NAEP mathematics achievement was scored on a scale of 0 to 300 for eighth graders. Students scoring 261 and lower were considered achieving below basic understanding in science, 262-298 had Basic level of achievement, those scoring 299-332 were Proficient, and Advanced students scored 333 or greater.
