NAEP Mathematics Student Achievement at Proficient Level by SWD (U.S. versus FL), Grade 8
Eighth grade Students with Disabilities (SWD) in Florida scoring at the Proficient level were on par with national NAEP* averages in 2007, although both Florida and National percentages of eighth grade SWD students scoring at the Proficient level decreased from scores in 2005.
*NAEP mathematics achievement was scored on a scale of 0 to 300 for eighth graders. Students scoring 261 and lower were considered achieving below basic understanding in science, 262-298 had Basic level of achievement, those scoring 299-332 were Proficient, and Advanced students scored 333 or greater.
