
FCAT Mathematics Achievement Level 3 and Above by Ethnicity, Grade 9
From 2002-2008, the percentage of fourth grade White students scoring at grade level and above on FCAT Mathematics was higher than all other racial/ethnic groups. However, Black students in ninth grade made the greatest increases in the percentage of students scoring at grade level and above compared to the other racial/ethnic groups. During this interval, Blacks scoring at grade level and above on FCAT Mathematics increased by 22 points (to 45 percent), compared to 21 points ( to 58 percent) by Hispanics, and 14 points (to 77 percent) by White students.
