FCAT Mathematics Percent of Student Passing (≥300) by Ethnicity, Grade 10
From 2002-2008, the percentage of 10th grade White students scoring at grade level and above on FCAT Mathematics was higher than all other racial/ethnic groups. However, Black students in 10th grade made the greatest increases in the percentage of students achieving a passing score of 300 or greater from 2002-2008 compared to the other racial/ethnic groups. Blacks students passing the FCAT Mathematics increased by 17 percent, compared to 13 percent by Hispanics, and 4 percent by White students. Evidence of the racial/ethnic gap closing among students passing FCAT Mathematics is apparent in the 10th grade.
